How many subdomains are available and where do I set them up?

Any number of subdomains can be created with our hosting products. These can be added in Plesk Control Panel, the hosting’s administration interface. You can find instructions here.

What is a subdomain?
A domain consists of several components. In addition to the domain ending , also known as a top-level domain (TLD), a domain also needs a name (second-level domain). The respective protocol is prefixed, e.g. http or https. Here is an example:

With a subdomain, a freely selectable part, which is separated by a period, is added before the actual domain name. This is referred to as the so-called third-level domain. The subdomain is hierarchically subordinate to the actual domain. This support page is a good example:
What are subdomains needed for?
With subdomains, different areas of a website can be separated from each other. The areas of application are individual and can be used for many purposes. You’ve probably already seen subdomains like shop .meinedomain.tld, blog .meinedomain.tld or something similar. Here, specific content is provided via a subdomain, which can be reached via a concise, easy-to-remember address.
A subdomain is often also used to set up a new website so that the active website, which remains accessible via the main domain, is not affected.
