If you want to make a full backup of the server, or if you plan to make a critical change, it can be helpful if you can create a snapshot of the system.
You have this option in your virtual data center.
When you are in the dashboard of your vDC, you can click on the storage you want to take a snapshot of. In the popup you then have the option to click on “Create snapshot”.
Also in this popup, when a snapshot has been created, the snapshot can also be restored later.
The prerequisite for this, however, is that the system is switched off.
